Sculptor - James Earl Fraser
Title - Indian Maiden
Sand Cast Bronze Dated 1921 5 1/2" Tall (13.5 cm)
James Fraser was best known for his classic iconic sculpture titled "The End of the Trail" which showed a tired and defeated American Indian and his horse. But he also created other Indians such as this portrait of a young Indian Maiden done in 1921. She has a quiet dignity and is dressed simply in the clothing of her culture. A fine small bust by one of the most important American Western sculptors, she is mounted on a 2 inch thick beveled marble base.
