Hingre was a talented Animalier sculptor who exhibited for many years. He created many well modeled pieces but most were done in plaster or terra cotta due to the high cost of bronze casting.

Here is one of his bronze sculptures, a Cat stalking her prey. She is stretched out as she creeps up on her intended victim. We have all seen our pet house cats when they are after a bird or mouse and Hingre has captured the feline character superbly. A wonderful model by a fine sculptor.

This bronze was cast by the Vincennes Freres foundry and has their foundry mark on the base, it is also marked “1” indicating it is the first cast done of the Cat. The Cat is signed on the base and has a rich warm brown patina.
