Arson was a lesser known Animalier sculptor but he created some fine models. His work usually tells a story and is done with fine detail. This pair shows a Rooster with his foot on a Rat, and a Hen feeding her Chicks. They are very well detailed and have a worn silvered patina but the color goes well with the subjects.

These sculptures were designed as a pair and it is rare to find a pair that has stayed together since many times these pairs have been separated. The Rooster and Hen compliment each other well and portray barnyard life as the artist saw it. A cast of the Rooster is illustrated in Payne's book Animals in Bronze on page 84.
