Sculptor - Geoffrey Dashwood

Title - Quail

Lost Wax Cast Bronze

 Circa 1970s

4" height
(10 cm)

Here is a fine small bronze of a Quail by Geoffrey Dashwood, it is an early sculpture when he was doing realistic birds before he changed to a stylized sculpting that captured the basic shape and form of a bird. This perky Quail is standing up on his toes crowing and is very detailed. He is cast # 9 in an edition of 20, the bronze has a rich dark brown patina and is mounted on the original 3/4" thick mahogany wood base.
