Fremiet's small animal bronzes were done during his early career and were very successful in helping to establish him as a sculptor.

The sculptor has captured the Cat as she sits relaxed, yet her tail is twitching at the tip and she turns to look at it. She might be thinking of chasing a mouse or she might just pounce on her own tail in play. A great little study of feline character.

This bronze of a Seated Cat was a popular model and was cast in fairly large numbers, yet you do not find it offered for sale very often because it is so appealing and people do not like to part with them.

A fine small cabinet bronze, this Cat is finished in a golden brown patina, she is signed and has the punch numbers "564" on the base, showing this is an early cast done by Charles More, who cast many of Fremiet's small animals.

A charming little Cat that would be enjoyed by anyone.
