Guido Righetti (1875-1958) was born in Milan Italy into an aristocratic northern Italian family. He never sought out fame or exhibited his art at the major European exhibitions, sculpting mostly for his own enjoyment. Though his sculpture  is considered to be a very "modern" renditions of animal subjects they are very fluid in motion and action. Guido Righetti was a student of Prince Paul Troubetzskoy and his style of his sculpture takes on this impressionistic flavor.  His models also draw upon the style of Rembrandt Bugatti who was a close personal friend of this artist. Guido Righetti's bronzes were all cast using the lost wax method and were done in editions of less than 10, some of his bronzes are unique casts.
